Tim's Profile

Tim commenced his career in the building profession in the early 1990's starting as an apprentice Bricklayer quickly being promoted to site foreman.

After successfully completing extensive training courses and gaining invaluable experience with large multi-national building firms, Tim decided to channel his vast knowledge and expertise into the formation of TJD Building Contractors Ltd in 2002 to offer an exceptionally high standard of building and project management to the private sector who require a more personal and hands-on approach to their building projects.

The reputation of the firm was quickly recognised by the "Federation of Master Builders" who awarded TJD Building Contractors Limited the prestigious award of "THE MASTER BUILDERS OF THE YEAR" in 2008, an achievement unsurpassed by any other firm in a similar time frame, and one which Tim Drayton and his fellow directors are very proud.

With Tim Drayton at the helm of TJD, your building project will be in the safe hands of himself personally, together with his colleagues who's reputation, is respected by it's peers, together with the National Federation controlling the whole industry within the UK.

Alan's Profile

Alan has over 25 years of experience dedicated to the building and construction industry.

Alan started at the age of 16 as apprentice Carpenter, specialising in this professional trade personally although with a wealth of knowledge spanning this time frame and extensive experience in all related building trades.

Working as a site manager and finishing foreman, for some of the largest building firms in the UK Alan is regularly requested for advice on contracts and projects for Cambridge colleges, schools, shopping centres, housing associations, & hospitals and stables.

As an invaluable member of the TJD team, and director of the firm, there is a well know phrase throughout the firm of: "If Alan doesn't know it, or can't do it... it probably cant be done".

Richard's Profile

Since the age of just 15, Richard has worked within the building industry and his personal reputation for "Things being right!" is well known throughout the profession, and is an attitude which he insists upon with all staff and subcontractors involved in client projects completed by TJD.

From an early age as a plasterer and ground worker, Richard has literally worked from the ground up to the position he now holds as a Director of one of the most respected building contractors in Cambridgeshire.

Richard has previously been actively involved with huge building organisations such as Brignals, Amey, and Waites and been an integral part of the team for contracts in Cambridge colleges, schools, housing associations, RAF barracks, prisons and Godolphin stables although now dedicates his vast knowledge to the private clients of TJD Builders.

Tanya's Profile

After many years working within the insurance industry heading a small team as a senior office administrator, Tanya joined TJD in 2003 and was swiftly promoted to the office manager and financial controller for the company, and more recently to Company Secretary.

As the company was growing very fast it was vital that someone was appointed to manage the financial internal affairs of the company, offering the same level of professionalism to both clients and the directors which the construction team present to our clients... and Tanya was the perfect choice proving to be a vital member of the business management team internally.

Tanya's business management skills are of exceptional benefit to the company in so many areas, and being married to Alan Palmer, one of the company directors, Tanya keeps a very close eye on the company purse strings, ensuring that only the best and correct items are sourced for client projects, and are obtained at the best price possible.

Anna's Profile

With the continued success of TJD, we needed to find a highly professional office manager to assist in improving our service levels and efficiency to both clients and ourselves and internally.

Anna has a wealth of client liaison experience, and together with her knowledge of each project and empathy with client matters, this results in a competent resolution to any issues which may need that extra care and attention to detail.

Everyone can expect a high level of professionalism care from Anna, and together with her organisational skills, and very friendly approachable nature, Anna has proved to be an invaluable member of the TJD team by both clients and staff alike.

Michael's Profile

Mike specialises in the preparation of estimates for building contractors, relating to TJD's client projects and are able to work from received plans, specifications, bills of quantities or by verbal instruction.

His vast experience and knowledge of more than 35 years is vital in ensuring that our clients quotations are accurate and fair for both parties.

Mike has been associated with T.J.D. Building Contractors for many years and has personally worked together on numerous projects ranging from £5000-£500,000, always with an aim to provide our clients with the best price and service.
